Notice that one of the piers towards the far end of the bridge is out-of-place. This is a result of a 1975 accident (see ) in which a barge crashed into the bridge, collapsing a section of it. Due to debris from the accident (at the bottom of the river), the damaged pier could not be replaced in the same place as before.
